Originally from the Philippines, Eirene Espinoza was born in 1980 and came to the U.S. in 1992. She earned her nickname "Espy" while in the military and has adopted it as her artist's name. She received her AAS Degree in Interior Design from Tidewater Community College in 2011. She has since been drawn to sculpture, photography, and relief print. Inspired by her own personal situations and current events, Espy finds translation through mundane objects to relate basic emotions and question human behavior. Based in Virginia Beach, VA, she is projected to graduate from Old Dominion University in 2018.
